About Me

Dr. Abimbola (Abi) Akintola, a highly accomplished medical professional, completed her medical education at the renowned University of Benin in Nigeria in 1999. Through a structured vocational training program, she gained extensive experience in hospitals across Nigeria and the Republic of Ireland, working in various departments such as Emergency Medicine, Radiation Oncology, Gastroenterology, Respiratory Medicine, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Nephrology, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Geriatrics, and Stroke Medicine.

Driven by a passion for patient care and continuous learning, Dr. Akintola pursued specialization in General Practice through the prestigious SouthWest GP Training Scheme in County Kerry. Following her graduation from the program, she has served as a dedicated General Practitioner, contributing her expertise to several medical practices before establishing herself at Ballyduff Medical Centre. In addition to her vast experience, Dr. Akintola holds a certificate in healthcare management practice and has undergone advanced training in HIV/AIDS medicine.

With a particular interest and expertise in Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, Chronic Disease Management, and Stroke Medicine, Dr. Akintola is committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to her patients. Her wealth of knowledge and dedication to staying updated with the latest medical advancements ensures that her patients receive the highest standard of care and support in managing their health conditions, including stroke-related issues.

About Me

Dr Christa Sandra Marczuk graduated from Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland in 2008.

She trained in medicine before specialising in General Practice through the SouthWest GP Training Scheme.

About Me

Nurse Eimir’s extensive nursing experience began in 1998 in London.

Realising a childhood dream, she graduated with an Honours Degree from Thames Valley University in London.  Having practiced in both the UK and Ireland, Eimir specialised in paediatrics and neonates before adding significant experience in the emergency department, community nursing, and palliative and respite care to her resume.

More recently, following further professional development in the area of vaccinations and phlebotomy, she played a central role as part of the team delivering vaccines at the Tralee vaccine center throughout the pandemic.

Eimir is committed to her role as a practice nurse with Ballyduff Medical center as it allows her to use all aspects of her vast experience and training.

About Me

Nurse Lorraine is from Ballyduff.

Lorraine trained in the UK, completing Diploma in Health Studies in 1999 at the University of Bradford and went on to complete B.A. in nursing in University of Limerick in 2004.  Lorraine has worked in Acute hospitals in the UK, Cork and Limerick before moving to Kerry in 2007.

She has several years’ surgical and medical nursing experience. She has completed courses in Wound care, Stoma care and Cancer care. She has several years Phlebotmy experience.
